Hello Families,
Summer is here and the best theme for this month is SUMMER FUN! This month we will be focusing on a different summer fun theme each week. These themes include: parades and the Fourth of July, bugs, picnics, playground fun, and camping.
Concepts:
* Identify Bugs - ladybug, fly, bee, butterfly, ant, grasshopper
* Identify Picnic Items - picnic basket, blanket, sandwich, lemonade,
watermelon, chips
* Identify Actions on the Playground - running, jumping, swinging, sliding,
digging in the sand, riding bikes, climbing, playing ball
* Identify opposites with music instruments - "stop and go,""soft
and loud,""fast and slow," and "high and low"
Activities:
* Sensory play with water, rice, paper grass, tissue paper, sand
* Paint with Koosh balls, roll a ball in paint and push it down the slide,
fly swatters
* "Cook" and eat food
* Walking in a parade
* Read about summer fun in books - The Very Hungry Caterpillar,
Barney: A Camping We Will Go
*FYI - As the weather warms up we will have a swim day. We will bring
out our swimming pools and sprinklers for the children to play in.
