Children's Long-Term Support Program Early Childhood Program Early Intervention/Birth to Three Program Myths NAEYC Accreditation Therapies |
Therapies
We treat children with a wide variety of pediatric issues that affect growth and development. This may include developmental delays, neuromuscular disorders, learning disabilities, and/or behavioral challenges. Each child we serve has a designated rehabilitation team assigned to his or her care. This team includes professionals with specialized training and experience in pediatric rehabilitation. The team may consist of a Speech Language Pathologist, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Educator, Physician, and a Psychologist. These specialists are sensitive to the unique needs of children and use therapeutic techniques that keep your child's interest and focus. When children in our programs receive therapy, the therapy is home or classroom based as much as possible. This way, the session is very natural and not contrived as it might be if it took place in a treatment room. The children are most comfortable in their familiar surroundings, are able to enjoy the activities the teacher has planned and do not realize that they are working toward their specific goals. There is no better way for a child to learn than to learn from a friend,
and our inclusive classrooms and approach to therapy is evidence that
our therapists and staff embrace this philosophy. |
