Hello Families,
September is here! We hope you have had a great summer with all the warm
weather. Our theme for the month is "Foods." We will be talking
about nutrition with an emphasis on all the beautiful colors that we eat.
We will explore the shapes, colors and tastes of many foods.
Concepts that we will be working on this month include:
* Identifying fruits: apple, orange, lemon and banana
* Identifying vegetables: tomato, pepper, corn, and carrots
* Discussing concepts such as round, long, big and small
* Learning colors as they relate to the foods we eat
Here are some activities we have planned:
* Painting with spaghetti, carrots and corncobs
* Making prints of fruits and vegetables
* Exploring noodles, rice, coffee and oatmeal in our sensory table
* Young Toddlers will taste many foods for oral motor, such as freeze
dried corn, salty corn puffs, juicy fruits and crunchy vegetables
* Learning new songs about the foods we eat
REMINDER: No school on Monday, Sept. 6th in celebration of Labor Day!
Have a wonderful long weekend!!
