Infants and Young Toddlers
February Newsletter

Dear Families,

This month we will be talking "All About Me." This theme will include talking about our body parts, family and friends, feelings, and how our body moves. We will even be making a book, "All about Me."

We will make special Valentines' Day cards for loved ones and goody bags for collecting our valentines. If you would like your child to share treats or valentines with their friends, we ask that you consider fruit snacks, animal crackers, and other healthy snacks that are appropriate for our age group. There are 12 friends in Young Toddlers, 8 in infants, and another 8 in the birth-to-three program. Please do not write any names on the cards or envelopes, it's much easier to distribute this way.

Concepts that we will be discussing include:
* Identifying body parts (Head, hands, arms, legs, feet, belly, face)
* Identifying whether we are a boy or a girl
* Identifying feelings (happy, sad, mad)
* Exploring various ways we can move our bodies (run, walk, jump, crawl, roll)

Activities that we have planned for the month include:
* Making hand prints and feet prints in textured paints
* Making lip prints and funny faces
* Bathing our baby dolls, stringing noodles, and playing with play dough

Some oral motor activities for Young Toddlers may include:
* Peppermint marshmallows on ice cream
* Frosted cookies with sprinkles
* Rice cake faces
* Sour patch kids

If you have any questions please stop by or give us a call. Have a good month and Happy Valentine's Day!!!
